Founded in 1978 by John Halewood, Halewood International is the most significant independent producer and distributor of wine and alcoholic beverages in Britain. The company controls key brands in the alcoholic beverages industry all over the world. With annual sales of over €500 million, Halewood International has more than 1,400 products in Britain and 30 other countries. Four of the brands created by Halewood International are found in the top ten brands of their category in Britain.Halewood International began importing wines from Romania in 1987. Ten years later, the Group founded its first Romanian subsidiary and in so doing became the largest exporter of Romanian wines to Britain. After investing more than $10 million, today Halewood Group owns three subsidiaries in Romania in wine growing, wine making and wine distribution and employs more than 200 executives. The Group manages over 400 hectares of vines in three major wine areas: Dealu Mare, Podisul Transilvaniei and Murfatlar.The average annual wine production is 42,000 hl and the storage capacity is 90,420 hl. |
